Essentuki Mud Bath
Tambukan mud therapy, natural mineral baths and rehabilitation procedures in the historic medical complex of Essentuki.
Federal Medical Center
The Essentuki Mud Bath division of the Federal Medical Center is a major medical complex in the resort city of Essentuki. It includes the N. A. Semashko Mud Bath and the Emperor Nicholas II Bath Building, also known as the Upper Baths.
These are not only unique architectural landmarks but also medical institutions that have maintained their therapeutic purpose for more than 110 years. Treatments use sulphide silt mud from Lake Tambukan and natural Essentuki mineral waters.
Tambukan mud
Sulphide silt mud from Lake Tambukan is used for full-body wraps and local mud applications to the legs, feet, hands, joints and face.
When prescribed by a doctor, mud tampons and gum applications are also available. The procedure type and treatment area are selected individually during the medical consultation.
Mineral waters
Natural carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide mineral baths; mineral-water irrigation for the face, eyes, hair and gums; intestinal and gynaecological irrigation.
Turpentine, liquorice, bischofite, chestnut, valerian, iodine-bromine, pine pearl and lavender baths; Charcot shower, whirlpool baths for hands and feet, and underwater shower massage.
Comprehensive approach
The medical complex offers classic medical massage, facial massage, visceral massage and prostate massage.
Ozone therapy, inhalation therapy, herbal therapy, oxygen therapy, health-path walking and climate therapy are also available. Physiotherapists receive patients, and a dental office operates on site.
